Georgia Student Health Survey

Parents, all of our students are scheduled to participate in the Georgia Student Health Survey between January 17 and March 2. This survey is administered by the State Department of Education as part of our requirements to fulfill the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Act. Juniors and Seniors: ASVAB Test Scheduled for February 9

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test will be given at FCHS on February 9 at 8:15am in the commons area. All Juniors and Seniors are eligible to take this test and there is no cost. Please remember that this test is not just for students who are interested in the military but it is a great opportunity to link achievement with interest and to explore careers related to the information. FCHS Debate Team Dominates at Grady Quest for the Dream!

The FCHS Debate Team competed in the Quest for the Dream Tournament on January 13 and 14, 2012 at Grady High School in Atlanta. In addition to winning 2nd place overall for the second highest number of points and wins, many students won individual awards.

  • Emily Marin and Mia Blackman made it to semi-finals and won a semi-finalist trophy in Novice Policy Debate. Emily also won for second highest speaker points in her division.
  • Yosef Shelbayah received trophies in Impromptu and Extemporaneous Speech.
  • Maha Khan and Anna Franklin won trophies for Original Oratory.
  • Jazmin Carr, Cecilia Robinson, and Amanda McLeroy all won semi-finalist awards in Prose/Poetry.
  • Menaka Reddy won an award for high speaker points in Public Forum Debate.
  • Scarlette Cella won a speaker award in Lincoln Douglas Debate.

JV Academic Team places 1st!

(January 10, 2012) - The regular Academic Team season ended the evening of January 10, 2012 at Eagle's Landing HS with our JV team bringing home the 1st place trophy! We will advance to state competition on Feb. 4 at Flowery Branch HS. Click here to view team photos.
